Hi There, I’m Lynsey!

Nice to (virtually) meet you!
Perhaps unlike most businesses, Sweets by Lynsey didn’t start with a dream..
My husband was serving in the Air Force and in Sep. 2018, I gave birth to our first daughter in Florida. As some of you may know, those first few months of motherhood can feel so lonely and isolating, especially being new to an area and only knowing a small handful of people. I had left my previous job in retail a few months prior and I felt desperate for something to do while juggling my new responsibilities as a mother.
While I’ve baked throughout my whole life, I had never tried to actually decorate anything before. Coincidentally, one of my favorite ways to pass some time was binge watching cake decorating videos. I thought to myself “I think I can do that! Why not have another hobby!?” (hello ADHD hyperfocus) and just like that, I went full send into teaching myself how to decorate cakes!
In Dec. of that same year, I posted my first cake to my personal Facebook page and - BAM! - just like that, I had people flooding my inbox for cakes and telling me I needed to start selling them!
So while living along Florida’s beautiful Emerald Coast, I fully launched Sweets by Lynsey in January of 2019 and have been a part of countless events ever since! I never would’ve imagined my brand new hobby would quickly become a business and that I’d take it to 3 different states!
I could not be more happy and proud of how much it has grown, and it has truly become my passion!

In my spare time when I’m not baking cakes, I’m thinking about baking cakes (only slightly kidding)!
I am also just as passionate about DIY projects, all things true crime & paranormal, and of course spending time with my family!
